So term 2 has started a full month ago and I've finally found time to do a quick blog update. Not that I was so overwhelmed with work -- more like I was overwhelmed with classes going from 9am to 8pm 4 days a week, and therefore had to sacrifice the rest of the nights and all the weekends for homework.

I pace myself well so I get enough sleep everyday and get my assignments done earlier than the due date, but that only means I have no free time on weekends. All is fine though, no complaints here :), after all I am learning more awesome stuff this term than last term.

To top off the busy schedule, my computer had gone haywire on me so instead of spending hours and hours at home in frustration trying to fix it, I resolved to spending more time at school to actually get my homework done first.

Anyway, I've got only a few things to show so far, since we've been given more complex assignments this term that takes a few weeks to complete, whether than the short week-long assignments of last term. Enjoy.
For History of Animation class we were asked to draw a caricature of Keith, our instructor, to be handed in at end-of-term. I thought he would fit well in the KFC colonel's suit, so here goes. (The caricature doesn't look completely like him though, oh well).

First day at VFS was a really really long day, we had a 3hr intro block followed by two 3hr classes (Classical Animation & Sculpture) with the last class ending at 9pm.

For our intro block, everyone received a backpack of goodies (see pics for details). We also started working on drawings right away, I will update those later on.
For about half a year I have been counting down every day, anticipating the start of my new journey in life - the 3D Animation & Visual Effects program at VFS beginning March.

I may be over-exaggerating a bit, and some of you may think that I am out of my mind for leaving behind all that I've accomplished so far (and my hard-earned savings), to trade for a path of uncertainty. But this decision was certainty not taken lightly - I've always loved and been immersed in CG, and I understand better than anyone else that passion and dedication is the only fuel for true creativity and productivity.

I have kept a mental note to put up a blog before school starts, so I can record my daily adventures at VFS, and here it is! I guess I will have to make another mental note to update and keep this blog active.
